Brass Union Restaurant in Somerville
THANKS and GIVING
More Boston residents are living in emergency shelters than in any of 25 major cities surveyed nationwide. Homelessness is a problem that effects many people and as the winter approaches, life becomes increasingly challenging for those living on the streets. Colder weather conditions add to the usual challenges of homelessness. We’ll be building Blessing Bags that are designed to lessen the trauma experienced by the homeless by offering them personal items of comfort to help with a very difficult transition.
Pay it Forward
In this TeamBonding program, we aim to provide for those less fortunate by giving them hope, help and a little joy. Teams work together to assemble packets of useful, important items for those in need in the local community. Throughout the program, they learn about the challenges that homelessness face on a daily basis through fun and engaging activities that require them to work together and solve problems as a team. Participants are even asked to think outside the box and come up with an innovative idea that would help the larger problem of homelessness, which they must then present to the entire group.
Once all of the Blessing Bags are assembled, you will have a choice to donate the items to a local shelter or take them with you and distributing them on your own. Blessing Bags are often kept in automobiles and donated when one drives or walks by a homeless person. Either way, you will be making a positive difference in the lives of many people – including your own.
We’ll be professionally facilitating this event at the Brass Union and your group will have the whole restaurant to yourselves at lunch or early afternoon.
